Wahawks bowl over Linn-Mar girls

WATERLOO - Waterloo West had a pair of bowlers roll 451 series and cruised past Linn-Mar, 3044-2706, Friday in girls bowling at Maple Lanes.

Kayla Johnson led Linn-Mar with a 409 series. Doriann Whitlock shot high game of 237 for the Lions.

West's Abby Fangman had overall high game with a 265. She tied teammate Jordan Newman for high series of 451.

Linn-Mar girls bowl over Saints

Brooke McMorran fired a 436 series and Kayla Johnson a 413 to power Linn-Mar past Xavier, 2605-1864, Friday in girls bowling at Cedar Rapids Bowl.

McMorran shot games of 225 and 211. Johnson had a high game of 216.

Katie O'Brien shot high series for the Saints with a 293.

Pernicka propels Warriors past Lions

Keely Pernicka had the line Friday at Cedar Rapids Bowl, shooting games of 222 and 211 for a 433 series that led Washington past Linn-Mar, 2557-2501, in girls bowling.

Kelly Waters shot a 204 game for the Warriors.

Linn-Mar was led by Brooke McMorran, who shot a high game of 225 and had a 411 series.

Washington held a 36-pin lead after the first round.

McMorran sizzles to a 537 series

WATERLOO - Brooke McMorran sizzled on Friday, shooting games of 258 and 279 for a 537 series that led Linn-Mar past Cedar Falls, 2761-2590, in girls bowling at Maple Lanes.

Dorian Whitlock shot a 200 game and Alexis Tschantz had a 215 for the Lions.
