Linn-Mar - Boys Soccer

No. 5 Lions shut out Waterloo West

Devin Eby and Alexy Boehm scored goals Tuesday night as the fifth-ranked Linn-Mar boys soccer team blanked Waterloo West, 2-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference match at Linn-Mar Stadium.

Leroy Enzugusi collected an assist for the Lions. Cody Ritter pitched the shutout in goal.

Lions, Cougars drop spot in soccer poll

Linn-Mar and Kennedy fell one spot in the new boys soccer rankings released Monday by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Linn-Mar fell from No. 4 to No. 5 in Class 3A and Kennedy dropped from No. 10 to No. 11. Prairie stayed in the seventh spot in the rankings.

The Xavier Saints remained No. 2 in Class 2A.

No. 4 Lions roll by Waterloo East

WATERLOO - The Linn-Mar Lions strolled to a 12-0 victory over Waterloo East in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys soccer match at Sloane-Wallace Stadium in Waterloo Friday.

Bobby Charlton fired in three goals for the fourth-ranked Lions. Ben Johnson, Daniel Luzindya and Leroy Enzugusi had two goals apiece. Noah Ajram, Jared Slagle and Evan Towlerton scored once.

Philip Adams and Cody Ritter combined for the shutout in goal.

 

   

Linn-Mar - Boys Soccer

No.4 Lions booted by No.11 Hempstead

DUBUQUE - The fourth-ranked Linn-Mar boys soccer team lost to 11th-ranked Dubuque Hempstead, 3-1, Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference match in Dubuque.

Bobby Charlton scored for the Lions with an assist from Leroy Enzugusi.

No. 4 Lions boot No. 7 Hawks, 5-1

The Linn-Mar Lions became the first team to score a goal against the Prairie Hawks all season Thursday night. And when they started, they never stopped.

The fourth-ranked Lions defeated the seventh-ranked Hawks, 5-1, in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys soccer match at Linn-Mar Stadium.

Prairie entered the game with a perfect 8-0 record and had outscored its opponents, 45-0, but Linn-Mar solved the Prairie defense with a high-powered attack.
