Linn-Mar - Boys Swimming

Lions swamp City High, 118-51

Calvin Greve won two individual events and Linn-Mar claimed firsts in nine of 11 events to overpower Iowa City High, 118-51, Tuesday night in boys swimming at Linn-Mar.

Greve won the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke.

Linn-Mar's John Roggendorf won the 50 free and also swam on two winning relays.

Duggan Trenary and Kyle McNeal won individual events and swam on winning relays also for the Lions.

Trenary wins butterfly in Waterloo

WATERLOO - Duggan Trenary captured the 100 yard butterfly Saturday to help the Linn-Mar Lions place a tight second at the Waterloo West Invitational.

Iowa City West won the four-team meet with 352 points with Linn-Mar just 11 points behind.

Calvin Greve placed second in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke for the Lions. Zach Hendricks finished second in the 100 butterfly behind Trenary. The Lions also took second in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Linn-Mar - Boys Swimming

Warriors' rally splashes Lions' upset bid

Washington claimed the top three places in the 100 breaststroke to build a 12-point margin and held on to beat Linn-Mar, 88-82, Tuesday in a boys swimming meet at the Warriors' pool.

Nick Saulnier, Jared Thorson and Cameron Kelley were triple winners for Washington.

Saulnier won the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke and swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay.

Thorson won the 50 free and 100 butterfly and also swam on the 200 free relay.

Linn-Mar - Boys Swimming

IC West swimmers sink Linn-Mar

Linn-Mar swam well. Iowa City West swam fast.

Very, very fast.

The Trojans were in late-season form Tuesday night, churning out scintillating winning times that handed Linn-Mar a 93-77 loss at the Linn-Mar pool.

Linn-Mar won the first event, claiming the 200 medley relay. West won the rest.

Linn-Mar - Boys Swimming

Linn-Mar claims Grinnell swim title

GRINNELL - The Linn-Mar Lions won nine out of 11 events Saturday and claimed the top prize at the Grinnell Invitational swimming meet.

"We had a fabulous meet," Linn-Mar Coach Tom Belin reported.

Zach Hendricks led the way for the Lions with four titles in the 200 medley relay, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Kyle McNeal, John Roggendorf, Justin Arebaugh and Calvin Greve were triple winners for Linn-Mar. Reid Snell claimed two title.
