Trenary swims to win at Wahawk Invitational

WATERLOO - Duggan Trenary won the 100-yard butterfly and Linn-Mar won the 200 freestyle relay Saturday at the Waterloo West Wahawk Invitational boys swimming meet.

Linn-Mar finished third in the four-team event. Iowa City West won the meet, Waterloo West was second and Decorah fourth.

Arebaugh wins 50 freestyle at Clinton Invy

CLINTON -- Justin Arebaugh of Linn-Mar captured the 50-yard freestyle in 23.27 seconds Saturday at the Clinton Invitational.

Arebaugh's victory helped the Lions finish second in the team standings behind powerful Muscatine.

Arebaugh placed second in the 100 freestyle. He also helped the Lions place second in the 400 freestyle relay with Duggan Trenary, Calvin Greve and Kyle McNeal.

Linn-Mar swimmers topped by IC West

IOWA CITY -- Nate Greve and Kyle McNeal collected victories Tuesday for the Linn-Mar swimming team in a 109-61 setback at Iowa City West in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet.

Greve won the 100 freestyle in 52.40 seconds and McNeal captured the 500 freestyle in 5:22.19.

Iowa City West won nine of 11 events.

Nate Greve sparks Lions at Grinnell swim meet

GRINNELL - Nate Greve won four events Saturday as the Linn-Mar swimming team placed second at the Grinnell Invitational.

Greve captured the 50 freestyle and 100 breastroke races and also swam on the victorious 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay.

Kyle McNeal took the 200 freestyle and swam the first leg on the 200 medley relay. Jack Ramsey won the 100 backstroke for the Lions.

Waterloo West nipped Linn-Mar for the team championship, 385.5 to 378.
