Iowa City West drubs Linn-Mar swimmers

IOWA CITY -- Iowa City West won all 11 events and drubbed Linn-Mar, 119-51, Tuesday night in a boys swimming meet.

Linn-Mar claimed three second-place finishes. The Lions' Nathan Greve did not participate in the meet.

Deep Lions claim Grinnell/BGM swim title

GRINNELL -- Kyle McNeal and Nate Greve won four events Saturday to lead Linn-Mar to the title of the Grinnell/BGM Invitational boys swimming meet.

Linn-Mar scored 336 points to finish ahead of Mississippi Valley Conference foe Waterloo West's 278 in the five-team meet.

McNeal won the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and swam on the winning 200 medley and 400 free relays. Nate Greve won the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke, and also swam on the winning medley and 200 free relays.

Linn-Mar won all three relay events and four individual events. The Lions also had six third-place finishes.

Greve wins, Lions swamped

Nate Greve was Linn-Mar's lone winner Tuesday night at the Coe Natatorium and the Lions got dunked by Cedar Falls, 117-53, in a boys swimming meet.

Cedar Falls won 10 events. Nick Stern, Connor Clements and Jake Sund all won four events for the Tigers.

Greve won the 100 breaststroke in 1 minute, 6.42 seconds.

Greve wins twice; Lions split meets

John Richardson won four events to lead Kennedy to a pair of boys swimming wins Tuesday night at the Coe Natatorium.

Kennedy beat host Linn-Mar, 94-76, and swamped Vinton-Shellsburg, 126-37.

Linn-Mar beat Vinton-Shellsburg, 128-35.

Richardson won the individual medley and 100 backstroke. He also swam on the winning 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.

Kennedy won all three relays. The Cougars' Harrison Moore was a triple winner. He won the 100 free and was on the 200 and 400 free relays.

Linn-Mar's Nate Greve won the 50 free and 100 breaststroke. The Lions also got wins from Justin Arebaugh in the 200 free and Kyle McNeal in the 500 free.

John Levis of Vinton-Shellsburg won the 100 butterfly.
