Linn-Mar girls trim Wahlert, 5-4

DUBUQUE - Katie Rakers, Jenna Myers, Gabi Botsford and Emily Jones won their singles matches Tuesday as Linn-Mar trimmed Dubuque Wahlert, 5-4, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls tennis meet in Dubuque.

Rakers defeated Kathleen Hutchinson at No. 1 singles, 10-7.

Smith's clutch efforts key Linn-Mar girls netters

Ashley Smith had a key win at No. 3 singles, then teamed with Ashley Resewehr at No. 3 doubles to clinch Linn-Mar's 5-4 win over Kennedy in girls tennis Friday at Linn-Mar.

Linn-Mar won four of six singles matches, but Kennedy knotted the score with two wins at doubles.

Linn-Mar senior Katie Rakers continued an outstanding senior season with a 10-0 win over Sarah Lasecki at No. 1 singles.

Katie Rakers, Jenna Myers, Ashley Smith, Mackenzie Luering, Gabi Botsford and Emily Jones cruised to victories Thursday as Linn-Mar spanked Prairie, 8-1, in a Mississippi Valley Conference tennis meet at Linn-Mar.

Rakers and Myers posted 10-0 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

Linn-Mar's Katie Rakers whipped Elma Beganovic, 10-3, at No. 1 singles.

Jenna Myers, Ashley Smith, Mackenzie Luehring and Gabie Botsford all won singles matches for Linn-Mar.
