Mount Vernon wins Linn-Mar doubles tourney
Linn-Mar had a pair of winners, but Mount Vernon's depth won out Saturday at the Linn-Mar Doubles Tournament.
Haley Madsen and Ashley Smith won No. 1 doubles and Gabi Botsford and Mackenzie Luehring won No. 2 doubles for the Lions, who split their squad into Red and Black to fill out the four-team tournament.
Mount Vernon claimed only one first. Briana Pickel and Hannah Hall won at No. 3 doubles. But the Mustangs finished second in the other three brackets.
