Marion boys claim Wamac golf title

SHELLSBURG - Ian Kelly fired a 2-over-par 37 Monday and helped the Marion Indians win the Wamac Conference West Division title at the Wildcat Golf Course in Shellsburg.

Kelly finished in a three-way tie for first place with Zach Buch of Williamsburg and Grant Noren of Vinton-Shellsburg. Buch won a five-hole playoff, with Kelly second and Noren third.

Jeremy Schnieders shot a 38 for Marion. The Indians finished with a four-man score of 160 to top Benton Community by three shots in the seven-team tournament.

Schnieders, Kelly share medalist honors

AMANA - Jeremy Schnieders and Ian Kelly shot 4-over-par 40's Thursday tofinish in a three-way tie for medalist honors at the Amana Colonies Golf Course.

Daniel Janssen of Vinton-Shellsburg also shot a 40.

Vinton-Shellsburg won the meet at 170, followed by Marion (178) and Clear Creek-Amana (186).

Kelly, Schneiders lead Marion golfers

MAQUOKETA - Ian Kelly and Jeremy Schneiders shot 12-over-par 82's Wednesday to lead the Marion Indians at the Maquoketa Invitational at the Maquoketa Country Club.

The Indians finished sixth out of eight teams.

West Delaware and Mount Vernon tied for the title at 315.

Kelly shares medalist honors for Indians

WASHINGTON - Ian Kelly of Marion High School shot a 9-over-par 79 Saturday to share medalist honors at the Washington Invitational at the Washington Country Club.

Derek Anding of Washington (Iowa) also had a 79.

The Washington Demons won the title. Marion placed third out of six teams.
