Saints blanked by Cougars in girls tennis

Jackie Pedersen defeated Lisa Hoffman at No.1 singles Monday as Kennedy blanked Xavier, 9-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Kennedy.

Sarah Lasecki, Kali Hildebrand, Katherine Thompson, Ashley Schlueter and Lindsay Minder also won singles matches for the Cougars.

Saints split girls tennis meets

Xavier whipped Dubuque Senior then found itself on the short end of the racquet in its second match, losing to Dubuque Wahlert, Saturday in a pair of Mississippi Valley Conference girls tennis meets at Xavier.

The Saints beat Dubuque Senior, 9-0, but were beaten by Wahlert, 8-1.

The doubles team of Sarah Chalhoub  and Taylor O'Brien won twice for Xavier. Both girls also won once in singles.

Saints wallop Waterloo West in girls tennis

WATERLOO -- Xavier won all three doubles matches and four of six singles matchesand rolled over Waterloo West, 7-2, Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls tennis meet.

Lisa Cowden, Laura Birky, Sarah Chalhoub and Taylor O'Brien all won two matches for Xavier.

Saints blanked by Linn-Mar in girls tennis

Linn-Mar won all nine matches and rolled past Xavier, 9-0, Thursday in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls tennis meet.

The score was a bit deceiving. The Lions won two matches by 11-10 counts and two others by 10-8.

Linn-Mar's Katie Rakers defeated Lisa Cowden at No. 1 singles, 10-4.
