L-M soccer players commit to college

Leroy Enzugusi and Jordan Webb from the Linn-Mar boys soccer team plan to continue their careers in college.

Enzugusi, a junior, has committed to Drake. Webb, a senior, has committed to Marquette.

"I'm excited to announce that I have committed to Drake University. Can't wait make to things happen as a Bulldog," Enzugusi said on his Twitter account Sunday afternoon.

Enzugusi collected 16 goals and 15 assists for the Lions last season when they won the Class 3A state title. Webb missed most of the 2015 campaign with a knee injury, but he started 21 games for Linn-Mar as a sophomore in 2014.

Uthoff, Hartzler wear crowns at Clinton

CLINTON - Sam Uthoff of Cedar Rapids Prairie and Shea Hartzler of Linn-Mar won titles at the Bob Lueders Invitational wrestling tournament in Clinton Saturday.

Uthoff ran his record to 31-0 at 132 pounds with a pin, two major decisions and a 4-0 verdict in the finals.

Hartzler collected three pins and a major decision on his path to top honors at 160 pounds.

Taylor Mehmen of Prairie placed second at 195 pounds.

Ollinger helps Lions upset No. 4 Waukee

WAUKEE - Amanda Ollinger collected a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds Saturday as the 12th-ranked Linn-Mar Lions knocked off No. 4 Waukee, 54-51, in a girls basketball game in Waukee.

Ollinger canned three 3-pointers and went 8 for 8 at the foul line.

Kamryn Finley tossed in 13 points for the Lions (11-4).

Carlie Littlefield scored 15 points for Waukee (11-3).

Smith leads Linn-Mar girls by Wash

Abbie Smith rolled a 394 series and Mekena Diercks had a 213 game Friday as the Linn-Mar Lions defeated Washington, 2,687-2,024, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls bowling meet at Lancer Lanes.

Shania Christensen had a 206 game and 374 series for Washington.

Williams leads Lions by Washington

Nathan Williams rolled a 233 game and a 416 series to lead the Linn-Mar boys bowling team to a 2,826 to 2,606 win over Washington in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet Friday at Lancer Lanes.

Chris Schuttloffel had a 221 game and a 420 series to lead the Warriors.
