Prairie girls nip Wash in Shootout

Hannah Kousheh had several chances to score goals for the Prairie Hawks against Washington Wednesday night in the Class 3A regional semifinals, but she was unable to connect during 80 minutes of regulation or 20 minutes of overtime.

"I was getting quite frustrated," she confessed later.

It had a happy ending for Kousheh and the Hawks.

Prairie nudged Washington, 2-1, in a PK Shootout at John Wall Field and Hannah got poetic justice by scoring the game-winner in the Shootout.

The ninth-ranked Hawks (13-3) will play at No.4 Dubuque Hempstead Monday night in the regional finals, with the winner advancing to the Class 3A state tournament.
