No umps: Cedar Valley games postponed

Cedar Valley Christian's baseball game against the Meskwaki Settlement School Tuesday in Tama was postponed because the Settlement School could not find umpires.

Last week, Cedar Valley had to cancel games against Bellevue Marquette and Prince of Peace because the Huskies did not have enough players due to illness, injuries and other absences.

Struggling Cedar Valley cancels baseball games

The Cedar Valley Christian high school baseball team has canceled games for the second time this week due to a lack of players.

The Huskies canceled Friday's doubleheader against Prince of Peace in Clinton due to a manpower shortage. They also canceled this past Tuesday's meeting with Bellevue Marquette for the same reason.

This is Cedar Valley's first season of baseball as a member of the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA).

The Huskies have been outscored 65-5 in four games, with lopsided losses in all four contests. They lost to Springville, 20-4, and fell to East Buchanan, 25-1, along with dropping a pair of 10-0 games.

Cedar Valley plans to play a doubleheader at Montezuma Saturday afternoon with 10 players. The Huskies have been battling injuries and other absences.
