Warriors overpower North Scott

Tia Dawson scored 12 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked 11 shots to lead No. 7 Cedar Rapids Washington to a 75-25 rout of North Scott in a Class 4A regional girls basketball tournament game Saturday at Washington.

The Warriors (18-3) advance to play No. 8 Pleasant Valley in the regional finals Feb. 22 at Cedar Rapids Prairie. The winner of that game advances to the state tournament.

Washington raced to a 32-13 halftime lead.

The Warriors held North Scott to six field goals, forced 28 turnovers and had 13 steals.

Ashley Piper led Washington with 14 points.
