The Marion and Xavier boys track teams combined to capture seven events at the Class 3A state qualifier at Thomas Park Thursday.

Jordan Garthwaite won the 400 meter dash, Colton Forster claimed the 3200 meter run and Devin Quinn took the high jump as the Marion Indians placed third in the team standings. The Indians also won the 4x800 meter relay with Jacob Manderscheid, Austin Yirkovsky, Garthwaite and Trevor Hardman.

Nick Stark was a double-winner for Xavier in the 100 meter dash and long jump as the Saints placed fourth in the team standings. Xavier also claimed the 4x400 relay with Josh Gerke, Joe Welch, Evan Gradoville and Noah Clasen.

The winners and runners-up automatically advance to the state meet in Des Moines next week.

The Marion and Xavier girls teams did not win any events in the coed meet.
