The eighth-ranked Cedar Rapids Prairie baseball team outscored Waterloo East, 28-1, in a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader at Prairie Friday.
The Hawks won the first game, 17-0, in four innings and took the second game, 11-1, in six innings.
The sweep lifted Prairie to 18-4 overall and 13-3 in the conference.
Keegan Sanborn was the winning pitcher for Prairie in the first game. Jalen Rima, Cal Clark, Nic Mougin, Mike Gunn and Alex Mixon had two hits. Clark had two RBIs.
Mixon got the victory in the nightcap. Hunter Johnson and Ben Boldt were 2-for-2. Mougin, Jared Street and Johnson had two RBIs.
Waterloo East fell to 3-24 overall and 1-13 in the MVC.
