Jayden Spencer scored 25 points and Hailey Puk added 11 to lead Waterloo West past Kennedy, 58-49, Tuesday (Nov. 30) at the Cougars’ gym.
Cortney Strait had 14 points and Olivia Meier 10 for Kennedy (0-1).
West (1-0) outscored Kennedy 16-9 in the third quarter to pull away from a 20-17 halftime lead.
Kennedy rained in 10 3-pointers, but the Cougars’ were outscored 20-7 at the free-throw line.
Kennedy won the sophomore game, 55-23.
