Linn-Mar ran off five straight wins, including three pins, en route to a 46-18 pasting of Jefferson Thursday (Dec. 9) in a Mississippi Valley Conference wrestling meet.

Both teams also swamped Waterloo East. Linn-Mar whipped the Trojans, 75-6.  Jefferson won, 72-3.  East only had four wrestlers.

Spencer Clabough’s 6-5 overtime win over Jefferson’s Michael Smith at 135 pounds got Linn-Mar off to a 3-0 start.  The Lions led 6-3 when they began their onslaught.

Linn-Mar’s Riley Neil (152), Andrew Holladay (160) and Mitch Wantock (171) recorded pins, Mark Atwater (189) a major decision and AJ Garcia (215) a decision to push Linn-Mar’s lead to 31-3.

Back-to-back pins by the J-Hawks’ Conner Herman (285) and Griffin Bollman (103) stopped the Linn-Mar surge. But Alijah Jeffery (112) and Joel Northrup (119) sewed up the win for the Lions.

The Linn-Mar JV beat Jefferson, 65-13, and East, 66-16. Jefferson’s JV beat East, 54-38.
