Kennedy held onto the No. 8 spot in Class 4A while Marion fell out of the top 15 in Class 3A in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union volleyball polls released Thursday.

Ankeny vaukted past Iowa City West and City High into the top spot in the Class 4A poll. West remained in the No. 2 spot after knocking off previously No. 1 Iowa City High on Tuesday.

Other Mississippi Valley Conference teams ranked in 4A are Hempstead (11) and Cedar Falls (12). Dubuque Wahlert, which beat Hempstead in three straight sets Tuesday, is No. 1 in Class 3A.
