Prairie knocked off Jefferson in the first round and went on to win the Prairie Invitational Baker boys bowling tournament Dec. 18 at Lancer Lanes.
The Hawks lost only one game and won all five of its matches in the tournament.
The tournament used a Baker format. Each team’s five bowlers would roll alternate frames (e.g., the first bowler would roll frames one and six, the second two and seven, etc.). Matches were best of three.
Prairie beat Jefferson in three games to start the day. The J-Hawks moved into the losers’ bracket and battled back to the final but were beaten by Washington. The Warriors, who were beaten by Prairie in the winners’ bracket final, lost again to the Hawks in the championship. Kennedy was fourth.
All seven Metro teams participated.
