Stokes leads Metro in 3 stat categories

Kiah Stokes is headed for the triple crown.

The Linn-Mar senior leads all Metro girls basketball players by a wide margin in scoring, rebounds and blocked shots. The 6-foot-3 prep All-American is averaging 25.2 points, 14.4 rebounds and 4.9 blocked shots for the third-ranked Lions.

Courtney Strait of Kennedy ranks second in scoring at 14.3 points, nearly 11 points behind Stokes. Tia Dawson of Washington is second in both rebounding (9.9) and blocked shots (3.7).

Strait ranks in the top-10 in five categories. She leads the Metro in free-throw shooting at 87.1 percent and is sixth in rebounds, sixth in blocked shots and seventh in 3-pointers made.

Madison Dellamuth of Prairie is running away with Freshman of the Year honors in the Metro. She ranks second in the Metro in assists, third in scoring and fifth in free-throw shooting.

Jefferson senior Brittney Steffeny ranks second in free-throw shooting, third in blocked shots, third in rebounding, sixth in 3-pointers and seventh in scoring.

Jenna Eells of Linn-Mar leads the Metro in 3-pointers with 26 and Kailee Karr of Linn-Mar leads in assists.

The rankings are based on information supplied by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU).
