Rachel Sedlacek and Kristian Anderson have won the George Hidinger Awards as the Athletes of the Year at Cedar Rapids Jefferson.

Sedlacek will finish her career with 10 varsity letters in softball (5), track (3) and cross country (2) and she'll continue her softball career next year at the University of Northern Iowa. She was named first team all-state in 2011 after she hit .447 with 11 homers, 31 RBIs and 49 runs scored in 38 games.

Sedlacek is a member of the National Honor Society and will graduate in the top 10 percent of her class with a GPA above 4.0.

Anderson will graduate with six varsity letters with the J-Hawks in swimming (4), cross country (1) and track (1). He helped Jefferson set a school record in the 200 yard freestyle relay and qualified for the state meet in six events.

Anderson finished eighth in the 100 butterfly at this year's state meet and was named first team all-Mississippi Valley Conference.

Anderson plans to swim at Western Illinois University.
