J-Hawks rout Kennedy boys bowlers

Dan Healy had the hot hand, rolling a 257 high game and 440 series that led Jefferson past Kennedy, 3201-2853, Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys bowling meet at May City Bowl.

The score was Jefferson's highest since it scored 3284 in its season opener. Four J-Hawks rolled 400-plus series. Will James was at 433, Michael Kilts 428 and James Bruce 420.

Jefferson closed out the regular season 11-6 overall and 7-4 in the MVC.

Kyle Custer shot a 247 high game and 401 series for Kennedy (6-10, 3-8).

KENNEDY (2853): Austin Marshall 232-376, Jared Staub 184-348, Kyle Custer 247-401, Casey Sheets 201-366, Troy McKiernan 212-392.

JEFFERSON (3201): Michael Kilts 214-428, Will James 230-433, Tory Youker 225-376, James Bruce 217-420, Dan Healy 257-440.

First round -- Jefferson 2097, Kennedy 1883. Baker round -- Jefferson 1104, Kennedy 970.

J-Hawks win shootout with Linn-Mar

James Bruce had the hot hand for Jefferson, rolling games of 265 and 213 for a 478 series that led the J-Hawks past Linn-Mar, 3164-2999, Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys bowling meet at May City Bowl.

Dan Healy fired games of 246 and 217 for a 463 and Will James 234 and 209 for a 443 for Jefferson (10-6, 6-4 MVC). Michael Kilts shot a 237.

Linn-Mar (7-6, 6-4) had four bowlers crack the series 400 mark. Dreyson Robe shot games of 242 and 238 for a 480 series. Tyler Lemon added games of 204 and 235 for a 439 and Matt Wheaton 226 and 191 for a 417.

LINN-MAR (2999): Justin Wyant 207-392, Tristan Stevens 200-370, Dreyson Robe 242-480, Tyler Lemon 235-439, Matt Wheaton 226-417.

JEFFERSON (3164): Michael Kilts 237-388, Will James 234-443, Dan Britton 217-388, James Bruce 265-478, Dan Healy 246-463.

Prairie rally jolts J-Hawks

Prairie rolled four 200 games in the Baker round and rallied past Jefferson, 3127-3100, Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys bowling meet at May City Bowl.

Jefferson (9-6, 5-4 MVC) held a 68-pin lead after the first round. Dan Healy rolled games of 279 and 242 for a 521 series to lead the J-Hawks and Michael Kilts also had it rolling with games of 245 and 224 for a 469 series.

Prairie (12-2, 7-2) had a high game of 258 and 451 series. Brogan Fiala went 214 and 216 for a 430.

Prairie rolled Baker games of 253 and 238 in the Baker round to erase Jefferson's lead. The Hawks outscored the J-Hawks by 95 pins in the round.

PRAIRIE (3127): Jeremy Cline 258-451, Sean Steichen 206-392, Brogan Fiala 216-430, Chase Bicket 204-399, Nick Blood 211-393.

JEFFERSON (3100): Michael Kilts 245-469, Will James 193-364, Tory Youker 217-420, Austin Kluth 183-359, Dan Healy 279-521.

Hot Hempstead downs Jeff boys bowlers

DUBUQUE -- Hempstead had all five bowlers roll better than 426 series and rolled past Jefferson, 3390-3023, Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys bowling match.

Dan Healy rolled games of 246 and 220 for a 466 series that led Jefferson (9-5, 5-3 MVC). James Bruce was close behind with games of 237 and 228 for a 465 series. Michael Kilts also rolled well with a 214 high game and 404 series.

Jefferson - Boys Bowling

J-Hawks down Cedar Falls

WATERLOO -- Michael Kilts rolled games of 208 and 245 for a 453 series that led Jefferson past Cedar Falls, 2967-2775, Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys bowling meet at Maple Lanes.

Dan Healy rolled a 207 high game, but for the first time in two years failed to break to 400 series barrier. Healy shot a 390. Austin Kluth and Tory Youker shot games of 202 and 201, respectively, for Jefferson (9-4, 5-2 MVC).
