DUBUQUE - Dubuque used a 10-2 spurt late in the game to break away from Coe and dealt the Kohawks a 65-56 loss Saturday in Iowa Conference women's basketball at the Stoltz Sports Center.
Mackenzie Reed paced Coe (10-9, 5-3) with 18 points. Devin Hayes added 10 points and Mary Halvorson came off the bench for seven points, nine rebounds and three assists.
The loss snapped the Kohawks' four-game winning streak.
Jenna Kotas scored 14 points to lead Dubuque (12-7, 5-3).
The game was tied, 50-50, when Coe's Hannah Breitbach knocked down a 3-pointer with 7:41 left to play.
But the Kohawks managed only two free throws by Mickey Hansche over the next five minutes and Dubuque took control of the game, 60-52.
